Offered is a striking, three-page personal letter to Joan from Hall of Famer Charlie Gehringer during his stint in the Navy following his retirement from the game in 1942. Written in Gehringer elegant cursive, the letter details a lot of recollections of friends and events from their past; the letter is on the ubiquitous U.S. Navy stationery that was deployed for sailors for generations, 5 ¾-by-9-inch off-white pages. The letter, written in arguably the most attractive, seemingly perfect cursive you will ever encounter, is signed “Charlie” at the close. Basic COA from BAS.
