This is a sparkling Near-Mint letter from Hall of Famer Ed Barrow to Charles Navin, secretary of the Detroit Tigers trying to arrange an exhibition game during spring training between the Yankees’ Newark farm club and the Tigers. A splendid fountain pen signature from Barrow graces the letter’s closing; other content in the one-page letter includes congratulations from Barrow for the Tigers’ 1934 World Series win, along with consoling sentiments from him about the pressures of honoring seating requests in such championship campaigns. Barrow notes that seven such seasons “have made an old man of me.” Basic COA from BAS.
