Presented is a cool piece from more than 80 years ago, a signed letter from the President of the American League, William Harridge, to Roy Hamey, the secretary of the Kansas City Blues American Association ball club, a New York Yankees affiliate. In the letter dated July 18, 1940, which is in virtually Near-Mint condition, with only some minor light staining at each upper corner, Harridge thanks Hamey for his role in staging the American Association All-Star Game the previous evening in Kansas City and for securing good seats for Harridge. He compliments him on the condition of the ballpark and the crowd, and notes that the home team lost. Harridge signs the letter in closing with a simply stunning fountain pen signature, as elegant an autograph as you will ever encounter. Basic COA from BAS.
