Presented is a game-used catcher’s mitt used by Detroit Tigers backup catcher Jimmie Price, a member of the 1968 World Series Championship squad that upset the favored St. Louis Cardinals and Bob Gibson in a seven-game thriller that October. The RL 1 Rawlings mitt has a four-inch tear on the inside of the pocket. “Price” is written in marker on the outside of the finger; the mitt shows good use, with straps and lacing intact. Price batted .214 lifetime, with 18 home runs and 71 RBI in his five-year stint with the Tigers.
