Offered is a pristine, virtually as-issued commemorative bat from the 1971 All-Star Game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit, a bat from the personal collection of former Detroit Tigers backup catcher Jimmie Price, who was a member of the remarkable 1968 World Series Championship squad that upset the favored St. Louis Cardinals and Bob Gibson in a seven-game thriller that October. The 34-inch bat has “Adirondack 302” on the center label and “Big Stick/Jim Price/Flame Treated” on the barrel. A 3-by-2 ¼-inch brass nameplate notes: “To Commemorate the 1971 All Star Game, Tiger Stadium, July 13th, Detroit, Michigan.”
