Here’s a lot of 1959 Topps Football that’s so big and overwhelming we could only estimate the total number of cards, but the lineup of about 500 Hall of Famers is just as startling, with significant quantities of even some of the biggest names in the NFL from that era. The cards featuring Hall of Famers and key stars range generally from VG-Ex to Ex-Mt, with the emphasis to Excellent and with quite a few Near-Mint cards in the array and some below. In a group this massive, some of the typical centering concerns are included in the mix. The commons array of more than 1,600 cards is generally in even a bit better condition, probably Excellent to Near-Mint, with perhaps a couple of hundred pushing toward Near-Mint to Mint status, and a similar number Excellent; like their exalted HOFer counterparts, there is a significant number of off-centers in the commons group. From the Specials category there are 158 Team cards, including Packers (24), Colts (5), Bears (5), Browns (8), Lions (17), Rams (27), Giants (3), Steelers (2), 49ers (24) and Redskins (9), plus Team Pennants (196).
