Offered are two near sets of 1971 Topps Basketball, the first being broadly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below and the emphasis to Ex-Mt, and the second just a hair below at mostly Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some reaching above to Near-Mint and quite a few falling to VG-Ex. The primary set, missing three cards (Nos. 50, 144 and 200), as noted is essentially Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with perhaps a couple of dozen cards below to Excellent and another dozen to VG-Ex. The breakdown of Set 1 (230/233): No. 1 Robertson – Ex-Mt-Plus, 2 Bradley – Near-Mint, 10 Baylor – VG-Ex, 20 Haywood – VG-Ex, 35 Havlicek – Excellent, 47 Cowens – Ex, 55 Maravich – Ex-Plus, 60 Greer – Ex-Plus, 69 White – Ex, 70 Chamberlain – VG-Ex, 100 Alcindor – VG-Ex and 121 Goodrich – VG-Ex; Second set (199/233) is Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some above to Near-Mint and quite a few below to VG-Ex. The missing cards: No. 1, 29, 32, 35, 40, 44, 47, 50, 52, 59, 70, 81, 85, 100, 115, 120, 127, 132, 136, 138, 139, 144, 145, 148, 158, 170, 183, 186, 189, 191, 200, 201, 202, 203 and 219.
