Presented is an outstanding example of a key food issue from the late 1970s, the 1978 Hostess complete set of 150 cards featured in attractive three-card panels that are quite neatly cut from the boxes that once housed the yummy snack cakes. Almost all of the panels are cut well outside the dreaded dotted line, and the panels themselves are largely blemish-free in an issue notoriously susceptible to various indignities. Breakdown of condition anomalies: Panel Nos. 13-15 is cut precisely on the dotted line; the panel with card Nos. 31 (Murray) and 32 has small creases that encroach both cards to a very modest degree; Panel Nos. 58-60 has a minimally erratic cut, barely inside the dotted line a bit at the bottom; Panel Nos. 61-63 is cut precisely on the dotted line; and Panel Nos. 118-120 has a very small, barely perceptible crease (VG-Ex).
