This is an extraordinary lot that salutes one of the most beloved players in Milwaukee Brewers history, Hall of Famer Paul Molitor, who is featured here on 165 cards that range from his 1978 Topps Rookie and nearly 100 other Topps, Fleer, Donruss, Upper Deck, and other manufacturers’ regular-issue, career-contemporary cards to literally dozens of the glitzy 1990s varieties that include refractors, clear plastic, Chrome, parallels, inserts, mirror surfaces, metal masterpieces, die-cut, wiggle pictures and a whole lot more. A couple of Molitor autographs – 1993 Donruss Elite Dominators 0055/5000 and 2002 Upper Deck Classic Signatures - headline right alongside the Topps Rookie and his earliest regular-issue cards from the major manufacturers, with the condition of the early 1980s cards broadly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint and the 1990s and later cards in the expected Near-Mint or better status. It’s a lot that provides a striking tribute to the Hall of Famer, the seven-time All-Star and member of the famed 3,000-Hit Club, with minimal duplication (noted in the listing below). From the four-player Rookie card from Topps at the dawn of his amazing career to the cards-within-cards, cards-within-pouches, intricately engineered die-cuts and motion cards, it’s all here for the devoted Molitor fan. Like the old-fashioned lots of yesteryear, this one may take a bit of diligence in perusing the vast lineup, but the effort is likely to be worth it.
