Presented is an imposing array of autographed cards touching the great Goudey and Diamond Stars issues of the 1930s and the Play Ball sets at the close of the decade, with four Hall of Famers – Dickey, Durocher, Sewell and Lloyd Waner - included in the mix and a huge number of stars from the era. The largest subgroup is from 1933 Goudey (59), with smaller groups from 1934 Goudey, 1935 Diamond Stars and a second major group from 1941 Play Ball (28). The autographs are typically ballpoint or fine-point markers, and there is some duplication, which is noted below. The cards themselves are broadly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum, and are TCMA, the Card Collectors Co. or several other manufacturers. The breakdown: 1933 Goudey (39), including Dickey, Durocher, Sewell, Berger, Chapman, Crosetti (2), Fonseca, Schumacher (2) and Pipgras; 1934 Goudey (12), including Werber and Camilli; 1935 Diamond Stars (11), including Lloyd Waner, Crosetti, Chapman, Harder, Werber and Bartell; 1939 Play Ball (2), with Pressnell and Coffman; 1940 Play Ball (7); and 1941 Play Ball (28), including Vander Meer, Auker, Higbe, West, Keller, Dahlgren, Danning, Donald, Hudson, Jurges and Moses.
