Here is a striking artifact from the late 1970s, a game-worn St. Louis Cardinals helmet with No. 22 but without additional evidence linking it to Hall of Fame cornerback Roger Wehrli, who played for the club from 1969-82. The Max Pro shell has the crown sticker Jan 1978 on lower outer shell, indicating probable use between 1979 and 1981. It has the Riddell double low-hookup chinstrap and 22 in black marker straddling the center ridge. The Cardinals logo sticker on the left side of the helmet is loosening a bit, and the right side sticker is absent. Has the Riddell full cage mask, a style not evidenced by available photography of Wehrli; jaw pads and side pads are missing.
