Presented is a remarkable rarity from an extraordinarily difficult issue, an empty box from the 1934 Goudey Sport Kings Football Game issue, a 24-card set with a collegiate theme and a football game on the backs of the 2 3/8-by-2 7/8-inch cards. The offered box is in simply stunning condition, presenting essentially Excellent-Plus, jostled only my largely unobtrusive water spotting that hardy detracts from the presentation. The box holds 100 packs of 1-Cent cards; it is 6 ¼-by-10 inches and 1 ¾-inch deep and has been handsomely preserved in a cellophane that looks like it was done at the factory (but, of course, was not). The side of the box notes “Sport Kings Varsity Football Game Card Series.” As noted, it’s an amazing artifact, and one that any number of veteran hobbyists have probably never laid eyes upon.
