Here’s a true gem for serious St. Louis Cardinals collectors, a difficult 90-year-old issue featuring the lineup of the emerging Gas House Gang, with seven eventual Hall of Famers included in the mix in the dramatic, oversized issue. The 6 ¼-by-9 ½-inch cards feature sepia-tone images printed on a heavy paper. The cards generally present Ex-Mt or better, with some below, with most having unobtrusive pen notations of extraneous letters and “1931,” none of which materially detract from the presentation. Included with the lot is a Poor condition original mailing envelope from the Metropolitan Studios. The missing card is team owner Sam Breadon.
