Presented is a fascinating array of the 1934 Butterfinger Premiums, the 7 ¾-by-9 ½-inch unnumbered cards that featured the stars and players from the Great Depression era. Offered are 10 different examples of this difficult issue; typically found in two distinct versions, the cards produced on a heavy cardboard with spot color red advertising graphic are thought to carry a premium of three or four times the paper versions. Of the 10 cards offered here, seven are from the heavy cardboard version, with the three paper examples noted in the listing below. The breakdown: Boyle – Fair, Carleton – Good, Chapman (Paper) – Fair, Collins – Fair, Earnshaw – Good, Hornsby (Paper) – Excellent, Moore – Good, O’Farrell – VG-Ex, Swetonic – Good and Wilson (Paper) – Poor.
