Presented is an imposing group of one of the coveted Depression Era premium issues, the 3 ¼-by-5 ½-inch Goudey “Wide Pens,” found here in a highly presentable condition range a bit better than these important cards are typically encountered in mature collections. Three of the Hall of Famers have some back residue from having been affixed to a scrapbook; over the group is about 33 percent Excellent to Ex-Mt, 54 percent Very Good and 13 percent below. The breakdown of keys: Appling – presents Excellent with back residue, Averill – Ex, Doerr – Ex-Mt-Plus, Gehringer – presents Good with back residue, Greenberg – presents VG with back residue, Hartnett – VG, Hubbell – Good and Trosky – presents Ex-Plus with back residue.
