Here’s one of the real tough 1950s food issues, the Royal Desserts cards that were on the back of boxes of the various products, 2 5/8-by-3 ¼-inch hand-cut cards that make this one of the difficult offerings of the period. The lot features 23 cards that have been cut from boxes and the No. 1 Stan Musial on a complete box; the box is technically in Poor condition, but the Musial card portion is closer to Good. The majority of the cards have a less-than-precise cut; the Reese card is outstanding. The breakdown (23): No. 2 Reese – Ex-Mt, 3 Kell – Poor, 4 – Ex-Mt, 5 Spahn – Excellent, 6 – Very Good, 7 – Good, 8 – Ex-Mt, 9 – Good, 10 – Ex-Mt, 11 Rizzuto – Ex-Mt, 12 – Poor, 13 – Good, 14 – VG, 15 – Ex-Mt, 16 – Ex-Mt, 17 – Ex-Mt, 18 – Ex-Mt, 19 – Poor, 20 – Good, 21 – Fair, 22 – Ex, 23 – Good and 24 – Good.
