Like an adjacent lot of 1952 Mother’s Cookies, here’s one of the great minor-league issues from the postwar period, the 1953 Mother’s Cookies set that features player from the Pacific Coast League, which was afforded uncommonly prestigious status at the time prior to the move to the West Coast of the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants in 1958. The offered set is in a remarkably uniform essentially Near-Mint or better condition, with just a couple of cards – No. 7 (Very Good) and No. 42 (Ex-Mt) – jostling that designation. The 2 13/16-by-3 ½-inch cards boast vivid color backgrounds that bleed to the edge of borderless cards that are also distinguished by rounded corners. This was the second of two PCL issues by Mother’s Cookies in the 1950s.
