Presented are 10 cards from one of the truly difficult 1950s regional food issues, the 1955 Rodeo Meats Athletics set that commemorated the arrival of the newly transplanted Philadelphia Athletics to the Midwest that year. The unnumbered, standard-size cards bore the indignity of being issued alongside of Rodeo Meats hot dogs, making condition concerns a major element in pursuing the set. Here’s the breakdown of 10 different cards: Ditmar – Good, Dixon – Excellent-Plus, Gorman – Ex, Herbert – Fair, Melillo – VG-Ex, Portocarrero – Very Good, Power – Good, Shantz (Orange) – VG, Shantz (Purple) – VG-Ex and Sleater – Ex.
