Here’s the iconic 1959 Fleer Life of Ted Williams set in a condition as impeccable as his famous swing, which is to say nothing short of outstanding. As the Philadelphia-based company eyed finding a way into the mainstream baseball card market, they used the interim to take advantage of a bold, five-year exclusive contract they had just inked with “The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived,” as Ted had long hoped to be remembered. The offered set is in sensational condition, with the vast majority of the cards in Near-Mint or better. Overall, it comes out to 73 percent being Near-Mint, 18 percent Ex-Mt and 9 percent Very Good to VG-Ex; a handful of condition anomalies include No. 1 (Very Good), No. 2 – VG-Ex, No. 18 – Near-Mint m/c and No. 75 – Ex-Mt-Plus. Card No. 68 is missing.
