Here’s an intriguing assortment of important Topps baseball cards from 1959-63, a collector-grade assemblage that includes three dozen Hall of Famers and a boatload of Specials and stars, headlined by a 1959 Bob Gibson Rookie card, regular-issue Mantle cards from 1963 and Aaron, Clemente and Mays cards from 1961-63. The cards are broadly Good to Very Good, with some above to Excellent and a wee bit better in the final year of 1963, closer to Very Good to Ex-Mt, with some below. In the listings below, all player cards are the regular-issue version unless otherwise indicated. The breakdown: 1959 (95), including Gibson Rookie, Musial, Berra, Kaline, Anderson and Ford; 1961 (176), including Aaron, Clemente (2), Kaline, Frank Robinson, Gibson, Billy Williams Rookie, McCovey (2), Schoendienst, Wynn and Cepeda, plus 10 MVP subset cards - Mantle, Maris, Mays (2) and Campanella – four Team card and 12 Specials; 1962 (100), including Aaron, Mays, Kaline, Ashburn, Mazeroski, Aparicio and Williams, plus two League Leaders, two Teams and 10 Specials; and 1963 (235), with two Mantles (Very Good), Banks, Kaline, Bunning, Gibson, Lopez, Torre and Mathews, plus 12 Teams, 11 League Leaders, six Checklists, eight Rookies and four Specials.
