Here’s a chance to close out the last five years of the Topps monopoly in baseball cards with near sets from those five pivotal years, plus the charming 1975 SSPC set that hinted at what was to come in the 1980s with a baseball card set not produced by the Brooklyn-based behemoth. The five Topps sets from those closing years are in sensational condition, largely Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint or better and displaying the coveted “vending bend” that bespeaks of uncirculated cardboard, with great color and gloss and excellent photo clarity, with the only discouraging word being the AWOLs of some of the important HOFers from the lineup. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1976 Topps (654/660), missing Brett, Ryan, Yount, Schmidt, Aaron and Eckersley; 1977 Topps (658/660) – missing Nos. 473 and 476; 1978 Topps (724/726), with PSA 8 Molitor Rookie and missing Brett and Ryan; 1979 Topps (724/726), missing Molitor and Ryan; 1980 Topps (722/726), with PSA 8 No. 482 Henderson Rookie and missing Murray, Smith, Brett and Ryan; and 1975 SSPC Set (630), Near-Mint to Mint or better as-issued complete set.
1976-80 Pristine Topps Baseball Near Sets Plus 1975 SSPC Set (6)
