One of the rarest of all Topps prototypes, this fully printed (front & back) card features Hall of Fame catcher Ted Simmons. Part of the legendary 22 card set produced by Topps in 1980 for a possible collaboration with Pepsi. The project never happened, but a handful of sample sheets were printed for the Pepsi pitch. Over the years, precious few examples have found their way into the hobby. Several unfinished sheets and proofs began appearing with the opening of the Topps Vault in the early 2000s, but only a handful of completely printed sheets ever surfaced. This card features a glorious, fully printed front and back making it one of only a few known examples. Besides being one of the rarest cards of the 1980s, this is also undoubtedly the rarest Ted Simmons card extant.
