November 18, 2021: Fall Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/18/2021
Offered is an attractive game-worn Indians jersey from former outfielder Rick Manning, a shirt attributed to either 1975 or 1977 during his nine-year tenure in Cleveland. The blue-knit jersey has red/white/red V-neck collar and matching sleeve-end accents, with “Indians” in a unique club font and his No. 28 in white-on-red tackle twill. The NOB is sewn directly to the shirt in single-color white and a club patch appears on the left sleeve in zig-zag stitching. There is no year label on the shirt but, as noted, the style aligns with either 1975 or 1977; Wilson Size 42 collar label is also present. The shirt shows solid wear and superb crinkling of the back numerals. Manning is the current color commentator for the club’s television broadcasts; as a player he won a Gold Glove and batted .257 with 56 home runs and 458 RBI over a 13-year career with Cleveland (1975-83) and Milwaukee (1983-87).
