Here are two striking photographs of the legendary Babe Ruth circa 1930s showing The Babe doing “exercises” with a baseball bat rather than dumbbells. The 5-by-7-inch black-and-white photos show significant wear and handling, including extensive “white out” editing on the background for use in the newspapers, along with numerous handwritten notations from editors and pressmen on the back. The backs also carry official stamping from “The Christy Walsh Syndicate” and address on the back. Walsh was Ruth’s manager and arguably the greatest pioneer and practitioner of the fledgling profession as he guided the career of the most famous celebrity in America.
