Presented is perhaps the most important non-sport issue of the Depression Era, the classic Goudey Indian Gum set, found here in fairly typical wide condition range, and including 20 or the color variations that add to the mystique of his iconic offering. Printed in the then-standard Goudey dimensions of 2 3/8-by-2 7/8 inches that matched the legendary Goudey baseball-card sets from the period, the non-sport treasure featured remarkably vivid and colorful artwork depicting chiefs, warriors, soldiers, tribes, rituals and famous battles; the set is complete at 216 cards but the vast array of background color variations could make a master set virtually impossible regardless of grade. Overall, it comes out to 7 percent Excellent to Ex-Mt, 25 percent Very Good, 45 percent Good and 21 percent Fair. The breakdown of keys: No. 25 Geronimo (2) – Good and Fair, 33 Pocahontas (2) – Very Good and Fair, 38 Sitting Bull (2) – Very Good and Fair, 50 Boone – VG, 52 Crockett – Fair, 55 Custer – VG, 59 Wild Bill – Good, 60 Buffalo Bill – Good, 61 Houston – Fair, 68 Carson – Excellent and 78 Billy the Kid – Good.
