Offered is a marvelous historical artifact connected to the incredible 1888 Allen & Ginter N36 American Indian Chiefs Series of cards, with nearly two dozen of the cards included along with the 12-page album that pictures all of the 48 cards in the set that remain some of the most stunning and intricate paintings ever in the card-collecting hobby. The 3 ¼-by-2 7/8-inch cards were printed on a heavy card stock, with almost ½ of a complete set provided here. Adding to the lustre is the difficult Album of Celebrated American Indian Chiefs, 6-by-8 inches, with four images on each of the 12 pages, plus front and back cover disbound. The front cover is Poor, the back cover Good and the inside pages are broadly Very Good to Excellent, with some below. Breakdown of cards (23): mostly Good, some below, including Arkeketa – Fair, Big Elk – Fair, Big Razor – Fair, Big Snake, Black Eye, Black Hawk, Chief Gail, Crows Breast, Deer Ham, Geronimo, Great War Chief, John Yellow Flower, Cayatanita – Good (mk), Noon Day – Poor, Red Bird (3 – Good and two Fair), King of the Crows, Red Cloud, War Captain, White Shield and Young Black Dog (2, one is Poor).
