Presented is an important group of difficult variations from the classic non-sport 1933 Indian Gum R73 issue, one of the most coveted and prolific non-sport offerings of the Depression era. In a set that is numbered to 216, the 2 3/8-by-2 7/8-inch cards featuring the history of the American West offers amazing artwork depicting chiefs, warriors, soldiers, tribes, rituals and battles; the set has a vast number of variations possible from different series sizes and colors, and the offered group is a nice sampling of that aspect. It includes two of the difficult “Series of 288” cards and 11 White Background. The breakdown: Very Good – No. 167 (mk); Good (3) – No. 168, 183 and 199; Fair (7) – No. 165, 200, 201, 202, 206, 208 and 209; Poor (2) – No. 124 and 162.
