The legendary star of the silver screen and later the black-and-white one in millions of American homes is front and center here in a fascinating Topps non-sport offering from 1950, the massive 1950 Topps Hopalong Cassidy set. At 230 cards depicting the actor William Boyd in the role of the iconic cowboy, the set remains one of the largest non-sport efforts of the era. The 2 1/16-by-2 5/8-inch cards were issued in two-card panels perforated on one side, telling 10 different stories that are differentiated by various colors within each subset. The offered set is in broadly Good to Excellent condition, with a few below and a few reaching Ex-Mt; in addition, a Near-Mint wrapper is included in the lot.
