Presented is an impressive array of mostly complete sets or near sets of popular non-sport issues from around the world from more than a century ago, colorful cards picturing cowboys and Indians, explorers, automobiles, lighthouses, states and territories and houses, often utilizing the most elaborate and elegant artwork to considerable effect. It’s an great opportunity for type collectors or non-sport fans to pick up hundreds of popular cards from so many different genres, most in a highly collectible condition. It’s the kind of auction lot that begs for a good deal of careful examination. The breakdown: 1)1892 Arbuckle Coffee “Pictorial History of the United States and Territories” Complete Set (50), 3-by-5-inch cards, mostly Very Good, with some above and some Good; 2) 1909 Hassan Cowboy Series T53 Near Set (49/50), 2 ½-by-3 ¼-inch cards, Good to Very Good, missing “An Exciting Game.”; 3) 1910 Hassan World’s Greatest Explorers T118 Complete Set (25), 2 ½-by-3 ¼ inches – Good to Very Good, a few below; 4) 1910 Indian Life in the 60s Complete Set (50), 2 ½-by-3 ¼ inches, Very Good to Excellent, some above and below; 5) 1911 Turkey Red Automobiles Series Complete Set (50), 2-by-2 5/8 inches, mostly Very Good, some above and below the range; 6) 1911 American Tobacco T77 Lighthouse Series Complete Set (50, 2 ½-by-3 ¼ inches, Good to Very Good, with some above; 7) 1911 Helmar T69 Historic Homes Near Set (49/50), 2 1/16-by-2 ¾ inches, Fair to Good, with some above and missing “Home Sweet Home.”
