November 18, 2021: Fall Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/18/2021
Presented here is a key artifact in Topps baseball card history, an empty vending case from 1973 that would have housed a total of 24 boxes of 500-ct. vending, sans the pesky gum that so bedeviled serious collectors because of residue and staining. This is a particularly important year, since 1973 was the final year that the company issued cards by series through the course of the spring and summer, switching to issuing all the cards at once the following year. The presented box is in Good condition, with some tearing at one corner, and a good deal of extraneous ballpoint pen writing at various locations. A Topps shipping label of 7 ½-by-3 inches appears at one end of the box and a 2-by-5-inch Larry Fritsch Cards internal sticker at another, with various pen notations.
