Offered are five of the popular Burger King baseball card issues that were issued in the late 1970s and early 1980s, typically team sets that were distributed by the fast-food chain outlets in a number of cities around the country. Printed by Topps and mimicking Topps designs and usually employing the same photography, the standard-size 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch cards are particularly striking in terms of color intensity and gloss, easily Near-Mint to Mint or better and quickly reminiscent of the blazing condition encountered in Topps’ boxed Update sets in the 1980s and beyond. The breakdown: 1978 Astros (23), with Richard, Cruz and Cedeno; 1978 Yankees (23), with Jackson, Hunter, Munson and Martin; 1979 Yankees (23), with Jackson, Hunter and Munson; 1980 Phillies (23), with Carlton, Rose and Schmidt; and 1980 Pitch, Hit & Run (34), with Brett, Rose and Ryan.
