Presented are a half dozen important hockey cards of perhaps the most important player of the sports early postwar period, Maurice “The Rocket” Richard, who at the time of his retirement in 1960 was the NHL’s all-time scoring leader, along with being the dominant force on eight Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup-winning teams. The Hall of Famer is pictured here on six of his coveted Parkhurst cards, the 2 ½-by-3 5/8-inch treasures that reigned atop the hockey card universe in the 1950s. The breakdown (all are Parkhurst): 1953 No. 24 – Fair; 1953 No. 30 With Lach – Ex-Mt; 1954 No. 7 – Good; 1957 No. 5 – Poor; 1959 No. 2 – Very Good; and 1960 No. 45 – Good.
