Offered is easily the nicest 1969 Topps Baseball Super Glossy set that we’ve ever handled, an array so pristine and seemingly as issued that the temptation would be to simply call it Mint and let it go at that. Indeed, three of the keys – No. 24 Mickey Mantle, No. 28 Reggie Jackson and No. 58 Roberto Clemente – all returned from their pilgrimage to PSA with Mint 9 blessings; the fourth key card of Henry Aaron wound up with a PSA 6 designation, but my peepers aren't sufficiently acute to discern just why that is so. The balance of raw cohorts seems precisely to match the three PSA-graded Mint 9’s, exhibiting simply stunning color and gloss, which parlays nicely with superb photo registration and blemish-free card backs. Seems inconceivable that you could find a superior example of this difficult Topps peripheral issue.
