If there’s a Holy Grail in the sports autograph world, it’s got to be a personal check with a Babe Ruth autograph, and that’s precisely what’s offered here. The legendary “G.H. Ruth” signature on this May 3, 1935, Chemical Bank check is as striking and elegant as the ones with the more familiar “Babe,” earning a BGS blessing as a Mint 9; the huge 8 ½-by-3 ¼-inch check is a pristine match and is essentially Near-Mint to Mint. The check is made out to Engineers Club for $17.25. This is a simply spectacular artifact from the most revered player in Major League Baseball history.
