Presented is a nice example of one of the truly important postwar baseball issues, the 1950 Bowman set that is found here missing only two cards from the first series and barely more than a dozen from the high series. The early series from Nos. 1-72 is broadly Fair to Good, with some above to Very Good and a dozen or so below to Poor. The first series comes out to 44 percent Good and 31 percent Fair. It is almost complete, missing only No. 21 Reese and No. 22 Robinson. The high series is missing only 13 cards and is mostly Good, with some above to Very Good and about 18 percent Fair, with about ½ dozen Poor. The array is headlined by a No. 98 Ted Williams – Very Good and Campanella and Snider cards that are Good. Here’s the breakdown: No. Parnell Rookie – Fair, 6 Feller – Fair, 8 Kell – Fair, 11 Rizzuto – Poor, 19 Spahn – Good, 23 Newcombe Rookie – Good, 32 Roberts – Fair, 33 Kiner – Fair, 35 Slaughter – Good, 37 Appling – Good, 39 Doby – Fair, 40 Lemon – Fair, 43 Doerr – Fair, 46 Berra – Fair, 58 Furillo – Fair, 62 Kluszewski – Fair, 71 Schoendienst – Good, 75 Campanella – Good m/c, 77 Snider – Good, 84 Ashburn – Good, 94 Boudreau – Good, 112 Hodges – Good, 148 Wynn – Good, 217 Stengel – Good, 219 Bauer Rookie – Good, 220 Durocher – Good, 229 Frisch – Good and 232 Rosen Rookie – Fair.
