Here is an outstanding example of the important 1955 Topps Baseball issue, Topps first-ever all-horizontal issue and an iconic, colorful entry in the Golden Era of Topps Cards in the 1950s. The offered set is in an uncommonly clean and bright condition, with vivid colors and superb gloss, along with in most instances crisp, snow-white borders and remarkably pristine card backs. It is in markedly better condition than this classic issue is typically encountered in mature collections, largely Very Good to Ex-Mt, with a handful of cards above the range to Near-Mint. Overall, it comes out to 2 percent Near-Mint, 33 percent Ex-Mt, 34 percent Excellent and 29 percent Very Good. Most of the key cards have been third-party slabbed and graded, most notably the three Rookie cards of Clemente, Koufax and Killebrew, along with Ted Williams, Aaron, Jackie Robinson and Snider.
