Here’s one of the truly classic Topps 1950s baseball card issues, the colorful 1959 set that depicts the great stars of the era in what is arguably the most attractive design the company ever produced. The offered set is in a striking and consistent presentation, with almost 2/3 of the array in Excellent or better condition. A single card – No. 563 Mays All-Star – has been third-party slabbed and graded and is found here in an SGC 80 holder. Overall, it comes out to six percent Near-Mint, 26 percent Ex-Mt, 30 percent Excellent, 28 percent Very Good and eight percent Good, with about 10 cards below. About 20 percent of the array has the kind of centering that might prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation.
