Presented is a fascinating array of cards from the 1960s Bazooka Baseball series, the hand-cut cards that provided one of the major collecting alternatives for collectors through an entire decade, most notably with some of the best photography imaginable, often with imagery that seemed like it should have made the cut for the mainstream Topps efforts. This particular array of Bazooka cards from 10 different issues during that decade boasts scissoring that’s quite decent, along with a lineup of almost five dozen Hall of Famers, including many of the biggest names in the game at the time. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1960 Bazooka (19) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below, including Banks – VG-Ex, Berra – Ex-Mt-Plus, Mays – Poor, Fox – Near-Mint and Roberts – Nr-Mt; 2) 1961 Bazooka (27) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below, including Santo, Minoso, Banks, Kaline, Mazeroski, Drysdale, Spahn and Aparicio; 3) 1962 Bazooka (12) – Excellent to Ex-Mt, with a couple of Nr-Mt, including Hodges (mk), Kaline – VG-Ex (mk), Frank Robinson (mk), Romano – Good and Siebern (mk); 4) 1963 Bazooka (10) – mostly Ex-Mt-Plus or Near-Mint, including Musial, Drysdale, Cepeda, Frank Robinson, Books Robinson and Yastrzemski; 5) 1963 Bazooka Baseball Greats (12) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, including Chance, Chesbro, Cobb, Cochrane, Collins, Dickey – Good, Griffith, Landis, Maranville, Pennock, Simmons and Wagner; 6) 1964 Bazooka (6) – mostly Near-Mint, including Killebrew; 7) 1965 Bazooka (22) – generally Ex-Mt or better, with some below, including nine HOFers – Mays – Good, Kaline, Oliva, Killebrew, Williams, Torre, Santo, Bunning and Brooks Robinson; 8) 1966 Bazooka (25) – generally Ex-Mt or better, with some below, including Koufax – VG, Drysdale – Good, McCovey, Brooks Robinson, Gibson and Torre; 9) 1967 Bazooka (3) – Oliva – Ex-Mt, Reichardt and Agee – Good; and 10) 1968 Bazooka (17) – generally Ex-Mt or better, with some below, and cut a whisper shorter than specifications, including Rose – VG, Drysdale, Santo, Kaline and Jenkins.
