Here's a very cool piece of football memorabilia, especially for Seattle Seahawks fans... it's the actual football that Jim Zorn and Steve Largent played catch with at the top of Mount Rainier. The ball is inscribed, "To our friends at RMI, This ball successfully ascended Mt. Rainier on July 13, 14, 1980" and is signed in black Sharpie by Zorn, Largent and Howard Mudd. The ball was apparently shown to Zorn years later when he was working for the Kansas City Chiefs and he confirmed that it was the actual ball they played catch with. Zorn wrote a two-page handwritten letter on Chiefs letterhead and signed it, telling the story behind the ball. It also includes a 2005 Upper Deck NFL Legends card signed by Largent, who added on the back "It is the real deal, SL."
