1982/1983 Archie Griffin Bengals Game-Issued Home Jersey

Offered is an imposing Cincinnati Bengals game-issued jersey linked to two-time Heisman Trophy winner and veteran running back Archie Griffin, a shirt with a label style that started in 1983 after the end of Griffin’s seven-year tenure with the Bengals. The home black mesh jersey has the V-neck collar in finely ribbed black knit, with mesh orange shoulder inserts with Bengal black stripes. Sleeves are custom shorted 2 1/8 inches and sides are custom hemmed and tightened, partially covering tail labels. The NOB has surface degradation, but not from game wear in a shirt that shows no evidence of same. Russell Athletic label has adjacent flap tag with fabric content. Griffin’s final game with the Bengals was a January 1983 playoff game with the Jets after the strike-shortened season. He was on the 1983 roster but did not appear in the regular season.
