Presented is a nice example of the charming 1970 Topps Basketball issue, a partial set that is found here in a relatively wide condition range and includes two dozen Hall of Famers, including many of the greatest stars of the era. The dramatically oversized 2 ½-by-4 11/16-inch cards boast vivid colors in bold backgrounds that nicely set off the NBA’s players in the second consecutive year of producing cards in the larger format. As noted, some of the biggest stars of the era are included in the mix, most notably Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, John Havlicek, Elvin Hayes, Earl Monroe. Walt Frazier and a dozen others; a complete listing of the 51 missing numbers appears at the end of this text. Overall, the partial set comes out to three percent Near-Mint, 24 percent Ex-Mt, 23 percent Excellent, seven percent VG-Ex, 26 percent Very Good, 14 percent Good and just a handful of cards below.
