Here are three complete sets from the closing years of the 1970s of Topps’ tenure in the basketball arena, sets that are largely in the same condition as the day of issue four decades ago. The array is made up of three 132-card sets, with the 1977 issue being essentially Near-Mint or better (with a few Ex-Mt cards) and the final two years being Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint with only a handful of Ex-Mt cards. The sets boast nice color and gloss and centering fairly typical for the era. In all three instances, the Tier One Hall of Famers and key Rookies conform to the wider condition range. In short, the lot offers an opportunity to pick up three important issues from the dawn of the approaching explosion of interest and demand in the basketball card market.
