Offered here is a superb compilation of perhaps the most unique mainstream card issue ever undertaken by Topps, the 1980-81 Basketball issue that features three unperforated cards constituting one standard-size 3 ½-by-2 ½-inch card. The unusual format results into 88 unperforated panels of three cards each; the printing was done on two sheets with the individual players – 1 1/6-by-2 ½ inches – rearranged on the second sheet. The offered group is in essentially unimprovable Near-Mint to Mint condition, with no discernible difference between the condition of the greatest stars and keys Rookies in so many other configurations – and the other stars, minor stars and commons. Breakdown of keys and duplication: Brown/Bird/Brewer (4), Kareem/Dunk/Demic (4), Long/Erving/Sobers (2), Bridgeman/Erving/Sobers (2), Bridgeman/Erving/Demic, Kareem/Thompson/Taylor, Carr/Kareem/Natt, Bryant/Kareem/Natt and Maravich/Dunk/Johnson.
