Here’s yet another wonderful card from the unparalleled canon of Hank Aaron cardboard, his 1965 Topps No. 170 found here in superb Near-Mint condition. A baseball card of uncommon beauty in a colorful card set with attractive, color-coded team backgrounds, the 1965 Topps Aaron card is nonetheless a bittersweet masterpiece, marking as it does the final season of the Milwaukee Braves in the Midwest. Aaron & Co. would depart for Atlanta and the Deep South after that ill-fated 1965 campaign, with befuddled Braves management scratching their heads wondering where their fans went that final season with the ending of a tumultuous 13-year love affair.
