Here’s a chance to travel back in time to the dawn of the modern baseball card hobby, the early years of the 1980s that welcomed new card manufacturers after a quarter-century of Topps dominance. The offered array of nearly a dozen pristine sets boasts cards that are essentially as issued, Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with a few Ex-Mt but the emphasis clearly to the upper end of the spectrum. In the listing that follows, the Fleer and Donruss sets are complete at 660 cards, with card-set totals listed for Topps and Upper Deck. The breakdown: 1981 Donruss, 1981 Fleer, 1982 Donruss, 1982 Fleer, 1983 Donruss, 1983 Fleer, 1983 Topps (792), 1984 Donruss, 1984 Fleer (Mattingly has barely perceptible corner ding), 1984 Topps (792) and 1989 Upper Deck (800).
