Here’s a neat pair of rare minor-league jerseys from a team that survived but two seasons before being uprooted to Edmonton, Ontario, the Ogden A’s, perhaps best known for having enjoyed the youthful talents of one Rickey Henderson. Without attribution to specific players, the shirts reveal solid wear and remain important artifacts from a minor-league team with a colorful if brief history. The home maroon pinstripe jersey is a lightweight knit, with five-button front and screened-on chest logo (O A’s), left-sleeve logo (State of Utah with Ogden star) and block font No. 21 on the back. Collar label has “Stevens Brown of Salt Lake City, Utah” and horizontal label at inner button path with Sand Knit Size 44 and washing instructions. The second shirt is a road grey pullover, a lightweight knit with grey/white/maroon stretch-ribbed knit V-neck collar and sleeve-end accents. “Ogden” appears in white-on-maroon screened-on 3D drop-shadow font, with No. 3 screened on the back in white-on-maroon. A screened-on State of Utah patch logo is on the left sleeve with yellow star for Ogden at the base. These are rarely offered pieces that can boast significant minor-league cred in only two abbreviated seasons.
