Here's a really cool grouping of mostly T206 White Border cards of members of the World Champion 1906 Chicago White Sox, an array that includes five slabbed specimens, three raw and a pair of team postcards. With a T201 Mecca Double Folder of Hall of Famer Ed Walsh headlining, the group pays homage to “The Hitless Wonders” who were mired in fourth place in mid-season and reeled off a 19-game winning streak to wind up in the World Series against their crosstown rivals the Cubs. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1911 T201 Mecca Double Folder Walsh/Payne – SGC 4.5., 2) 1911 T205 Hassan Gold Border Doc White – Fair, 3) 1911 T205 Hassan Gold Border Harry Lloyd – Fair, 4) 1909-11 T206 White Border Sweet Caporal Billy Sullivan – Authentic, 5) 1909-11 T206 White Border Sweet Caporal Ed Hahn – SGC 3, 6) 1909-11 T206 White Border Sovereign Doc White – SGC 3, 7) 1909-11 T206 White Border Piedmont Jiggs Donahue – PSA 3, 8) 1909-11 T206 White Border Piedmont Fielder Jones – PSA 3, and 9) 1906 White Sox Postcards EV8 (2), George Lawrence photo – one with trimmed corner, the second with pencil marks.
