For advanced collectors and serious baseball historians, this is a unique opportunity to pick up 10 difficult and important mostly 1911-23 Tobacco and Candy cards depicting many of the principal figures in perhaps the darkest moment in baseball history. The fellas from the banned list like Eddie Cicotte and Buck Weaver are represented here right alongside stars not implicated in the infamous plot, like Hall of Famer Eddie Collins, Shano “Shano” Collins, Red Faber, Dickie Kerr, Ray Schalk and Manager Kid Gleason, along with a nifty 1910 T218 Mecca Cigarettes Boxing card of Abe Attell, the disgraced former featherweight champion who was alleged to have been Arnold Rothstein’s bag man for the 1919 World Series playoffs. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1919 Mecca Cigarettes T218 Abe Attell – SGC 5; 2) 1911 T205 Gold Border (Piedmont) Eddie Collins, ungraded, authentic; 3) 1912 T207 Brown Background (Recruit) John “Shauno” Collins – Authentic; 4) 1919-21 W514 Handcut Buck Weaver - SGC 1.5; 5) 1921 E121 American Caramel Dick Kerr – PSA 3; 6) 1921 W516 Handcut Eddie Cicotte, ungraded, authentic; 7) 1921 American Caramel Kid Gleason – PSA 3; 8) 1923 W572 Handcut Urban “Red” Faber – PSA Authentic; 9) 1923 W515 Handcut Ray Schalk, ungraded, authentic; and 10) 1933 Goudey Eddie Collins No. 42, ungraded, authentic due to light paper removal on the back.
