Presented is a nice array of mostly Very Good to VG-Ex cards from the iconic 1954 Topps Baseball issue, the company’s revolutionary design that coupled a large portrait with a smaller action image, an element that would be frequently employed by Topps designers through the years. The offered partial set has some duplication (noted) and features more than a dozen of the Coach’s subset cards and a vast roster of many of the great stars, minor stars and All-Stars, touching on many of the most memorable figures from the era. Within the Very Good to VG-Ex range, there are some rising above to Excellent and a handful below, mostly to Good; perhaps three dozen cards have the kind of centering that might prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though certainly not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation.
