This is a remarkable, high-grade grouping of the difficult High Numbers from 1955 Topps Baseball, an array that is roughly ½ Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint and the balance almost evenly divided between Excellent and VG-Ex to VG-Ex-Plus. The group boasts vivid colors and superb gloss, along with uncommonly clean and crisp card backs. One card has been third-party slabbed and authenticated at PSA 8, providing a nice glimpse into the upper end of the overall grading spectrum. Here’s the breakdown – Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint (11): No. 153, 157, 162, 163, 167, 169, 172, 178 – PSA 8, 188, 189 and 207; Ex-Mt: No. 174; Excellent to Excellent-Plus (5): No. 151, 159, 173, 204 and 206; and VG-Ex to VG-Ex-Plus (6): No. 160, 165, 179, 184, 185 and 208.
